Here is another old book from the "vault" of Culdcept stuff. TC and I were hanging out one day and decided to make a fun yet still competitive book. So we slapped this together and battled it out with 2 AI opponents. Here were the results. The books have changed since that fateful day but I still like it.

Whooh and I used a modified version of this in the Alliance league. Completely insane G increases per turn. We'd have won the match within about 10 turns (no joke, before our opponents even did a full lap of Stairway to the Gods), but out of nowhere we both had the WORST draws ever, and that gave Matt and Cormac's Goblin horde enough momentum to commence beating on our lands and we ended up losing it.

Note to self: LOTS of Reincarnation in next version.

It's a shame it didn't pan out into a nice win for you guys. I'm glad there are more Leshy fans. It can be really fun and, due to bad draws, challenging to pull this off. I always find it rewarding when you get a nice leveled up land even if it doesn't net you the win. There's just a satisfaction in Leshy doing work for you.

We actually didn't use Team Leshy in our first-round match, and we darn-near lost that one to a Team Leshy. Our opponents in that one had a Leshy up to lv5 in very short order, and we were down by a huge amount (at least 4k, but may have even been more). We immediately started buying up symbols in that color and somehow, they were never able to get another one leveled significantly.

We managed to slowly but surely claw our way back into the match, but even then, it was win or lose in the last 2 turns. I had to use nearly all my G on a game-saving Comet. Next turn, Whooh very cleverly cast Fairy Light on me (or was it Gift? I forget.), and that gave me just enough G in hand to cast Word of Recall and jump in for the win.

I so wish we had a video of that match. Biggest. Comeback. Ever.

That was Vlad and I playing that Leshy deck in the tourney. To be honest, though, we'd never seen TopCat's post and sort of stumbled across the Leshy idea while playtesting our PowderEater/Feast combo. Our decks sort of morphed into a Powder Eater/Feast/Leshy idea, but we might have been better off just going full Leshy. We were also hampered by not getting a PE down until turn 15 or so. We knew Andy and Whooh would be playing a symbol-based strategy, so spamming the board with PEs and Feast generated a lot of money for us. (By the end of the game, little ol' 20G Feast was generating upward of 1200G for the two of us.) The biggest thing hurting us was a lack of anything to counter Comet. I think they nailed us with that a couple of times. Oh, and my Lord of Bane didn't get a chance to be used because Whooh or Andy drew a Wall Transform or Polymorph (I forget which) a turn after I put Bane down.

Anyway, made me curious about the Leshy idea, which I've played online with Blinkswift and XX Gemini5 XX. My latest build:

4 Dopelganger
3 Opal Idol (which Gemini likes to call the Academy Award)
2 Branch Army (in case I need a little offense)
1 Grimalkin (b/c it's always good to have one untargetable creature in every deck)
2 Herald Spirit
1 Hypno Sloth
4 Leshy
1 Lichenoid
2 Sakuya
1 Spudfolk
1 Unnameable (to get rid of pesky idols)

4 Earth Shield
4 Silver Plow
2 Chariot
2 Crusher
3 Fame
1 Fat Body
2 Land Protection
2 Permission (Depending on the map, easily swapped out for Telegnosis, Revelation or another Opal Idol)
2 Relief
1 Revelation
2 Revival
2 Telekenisis
