This little guy is so underused its sad. Most people see the 20hp and immediately scroll past it. This is a shame since Pegasus is one of the most effective landholders in the game. Attack First means he can kill opponents before they get the chance to attack. It is Untargetable so all single target creature spells and enchantments will not work eg. Paralyzer will not work. It neutralizes scrolls so Volcanic Dragon and all you scroll bearers can go elsewhere.

However Pegasus has its weaknesses. Burning Hail + Tempest + Zeromn can one shot Pegasus since its a multitarget spell. Peluda is a two shot. This can be remedied with a Mass Phantasm.

Also a strong FA monster can give you problems, which is why you need to be well stocked with an assortment of items to keep Pegasus alive. Though the consensus when you land on a lvl 5 Pegasus is just pay the toll.

Seems everyone totally missed this post somehow. That's kind of a bummer, because Pegasus really deserves more attention than it gets.

Russel completely demolished me in Season 4 with this great creature, knocking me out of the playoffs with ease. Pegasus' unique combination of Attacks First, Cannot Be Targeted, and Neutralizes Scrolls is incredibly effective. In a deck like Russel's Infection (which also happens to be the deck he crushed me with), Pegasus also doubles as a ruthless invader, thanks to Storm Armor.

What creative uses have you all come up with for Pegasus? I'm curious...

I ran Infection vs. Tiago a few weeks back on the ladder, so I can see the importance of Pegasus in that deck.

Wind Shield works, too in that deck. Infection doesn't stop mass destruction, but I'm not sure that was a common deck back in the day. Besides, if it was Mass Phantasm can protect your Pegasus.

I've been working on another top secret use for Pegasus which involves Gaseous Form. Oh wait.. secret is out
