TOPIC: Wall Transform

Wall Transform 27 Jul 2010 10:46 #3191

This is a two part topic. First off, can anyone tell me what walls of each type Wall Transform will apply? I'm pretty sure that Neutral = Wonder Wall, Green = Wall of Stone, Blue = Wall of Ice, but what about red and yellow? I believe red = Creeping Flame (Red's only defensive creature?) and Yellow = Tornado, but I'm not positive.

The next part of the topic deals with strategy for using this card. I'm sure we have all been the victim of an opponent transforming our prized land into a relatively lame wall, but has anyone tried using Wall Transform on themselves for their own benefit? I was thinking about running Wall Transforms in a variant of a powder eater deck. The idea behind this is to spread the puffballs around the map without necessarily boosting them and then transform them into walls in territories that will play a key role in chaining. One obvious downside is that Wall Transform costs 80G while I'm pretty sure all of the walls cost around half that. On the other hand you would save room in your book because you wouldn't need as many creatures, you can place a defensive creature anywhere on the board (assuming you have a powder eater there) and on any turn (assuming you have a Wall Transform in hand), plus you could always use the Wall Transform in the more traditional sense if your opponent has a particularly nasty creature holding land.

Anyone ever tried this? What do you think?

YO - your guesses on red and yellow are correct.

Wall transform is flexible. I've used it before on my own creatures - turning them into Wonder Wall, when I find my opponent has no way to deal with the floating cube. Wall transform works great on creatures like Kelpie and others with really good abilities. Instead of putting the Wall Transform in your deck to specifically change one of your existing lands, I'd just put Tornado or some other creature in and grab an additional land with it. I would only use it to change your stuff into Wonder Wall, and only if it was advantageous. The Red, Yellow, Green and Blue walls are just not as good. :)

It's a way to easily take down a leveled-up land to use battering ram item for an instant kill.
