Most shrine effects tend to be immaterial or minor, e.g. healing certain creatures, ST+5, gain or lose 200G or so. But today I ran into one that can potentially turn the game around:

- destroy all item cards in all ceptors' hands

Any other major effects you have seen?

All yellow creatures lose 5 HP when running a powder eater deck.

But when running Powder Eater, shouldn't you try to increase the HP first before doing the multiplying?

Just realized this was for the 3DS game and not Saga, so I don't even know if that shrine effect exists in this version. However, no you don't necessarily have to increase the HP first to have an effective powder eater strategy. You can spam them all over the board and use storm armor. You can use trade. You can use them with Tokebi. I'll sometimes throw a powder eater into a deck if I need a free way to grab land quickly.
