With the 30-card tourney wrapping up, I'm pleased to announce Culdcept Central's newest tournament: The Interchange tourney (also dubbed the "Not Your Deck tourney" by Beena).
The rules for this tournament are as follows:
Once a player is signed up he/she is to create a deck specifically for the tournament. When done, they will then post this deck on the forum. Seems straightforward right? Well here comes the twist: For every match you play you are allowed to pick ONLY the decks listed for this tourney - but wait, there's more! - you CANNOT use the deck that you listed yourself! In other words you will be using only the decks other people created. To make sure decks are viable, I will review every deck submitted before they are officially eligible to be entered into this tournament. The object here is NOT to create a bad deck, but a good deck that others will want to use!
The idea for this tourney came in the chat room while we were discussing how people play the same decks completely differently. The thing is, everyone has such a different playing style from everyone else that it'll be fun to watch people work with cards that they would normally overlook, try to use a deck built around a foreign strategy, or simply adjust their entire playing style every round of the tournament.
The basic rules:
50 card deck
TG = 7,000
Rounds = 95
Timer = 60 seconds
Land = Random
Map = assigned per round
E-Cards = Allowed
Format = 1 vs. 1 double elimination
In the event of a disconnect, players are allowed to play new decks (unless otherwise agreed upon prior to the match).
Please note, that if you drop out, you won't be allowed to participate in other leagues on this site. Some exceptions to this drop out rule are family emergencies, RROD, etc.
Once everyone is signed up I will put a bracket together through Random.org. From there, who you play depends on your path through the bracket.
If there are any questions about the rules, feel free to ask. The rules will be revised and clarified as needed.
p.s. - to add one final incentive to create a good deck, at tourney's end, the 2 players who had the most popular decks chosen will square off against each other -- only using the opposite decks.
