Hey DeathFromAce - that is awfully nice of you. You can give the key to the winner yourself using the pm feature here in the forum.

Jasoya and I split our matches last night. The first one was on Santana Village and what a slugfest it was! 91 rounds long and 28 creatures died :O I think we only leveled up a couple lands throughout the match. Jasoya kept getting bad rolls and ended up landing on one of those leveled lands.

The second match was played on my home map of 360. Jasoya took it. This match wasn't as exciting (yeah games on 360 can be boring). Basically, Jasoya's strategy worked better than mine. Now we'll have a tiebreaker on X :O

I would have typed more, but didn't want to reveal our strategies in any way.

Derceto7 and I played our first two playoff matches... I smooshed him on Blumeer, he smooshed me on Basisk, and the dc fairy smooshed us both three times on Blumeer. We're playing the tiebreaker on Altar of Blessing tomorrow night.

Great games, Derceto. Thanks!

Andyman and I played our tie-breaker on Alter of Blessing tonight... Disconnect fairy hit us once on an extremely close game that was SOOO close to finishing ::Derceto pinches his thumb and pointer finger together almost touching:: but also too close in score to figure out a winner.

In the replay I managed to control most of the game, but andyman did what he does best -- made what looked like it was going to be a breeze into a COMPLETE heart attack of a close game. It all boiled down to 1 roll as he was gearing up to take my lvl 5 land but had to choose another path when the roll actually landed on it, instead of next to it in order to move over and confiscate.

Great games Andy, all 3. (or 7 if you count the DC's :) )

In an epic match against Mad Maxx I managed to nickle and dime myself to victory. for 30 rounds It looked like Mad Maxx would take the cake as I was exhausted of my magic power at round 25, I managed to keep Mad Maxx below 2000g for over 20 rounds somehow after being exhausted. As very necessary cards were not coming to his hand making it easy for me to take his territories. At about round 35 I took the lead and started to gain my TG fairly steadily until about round 40 or 45 My TG started to rise at a faster rate. Maxx finally broke 2000g at round started to rise up at a fairly quick rate. By that time I was over 1000g ahead of him and had a slightly faster rate. At the final 10 rounds that all changed, Mad Maxx is closing the gap leveling up his territories and still increasing his TG as I was starting to slow down in my ability to increase my TG. At the final 2 rounds I snatched one of his key level 4s and on the next turn I sealed my win by skipping over his other level 4 to the castle for the win. It may not have been as much of a blood bath as Santana Village was but it was still a blood bath nonetheless. VGG Mad Maxx a VGG indeed! :D

Jaosoya - yes, it was an epic game. I thought I had you for sure when I had 4-5 creatures out and you were exhausted. My deck was very defensive, but your one strategy for offense had me worried. I also may have been a little greedy at times. VGG and it was well played by you. You definitely deserve to be in the finals! Congrats!

Awesome. Sorry Maxx... I guess it just wasn't our season!

Derceto7 and Jasoya: Best of luck in the finals, and remember, there is a $50 and a $25 GameStop gift card to the winner and runner-up! (So, you're both guaranteed to go home with a prize! Congrats!) :D

Jasoya and I played our finals matches today (division II represent whooo!). Before I say anything I just want to mention that Jasoya had me on the edge of my seat the whole time... He's one of the players that i feel is so methodical and smart with their moves that its NEVER a safe game no matter what lead you have. Ever.

Our first match was on Jasoya's home map of Santana Village. I spent SO MUCH TIME preparing for that map because he absolutely crushed me in division play on that map. I managed to get control of the board and hold him back -- very much in thanks to Salamander, Eagle Rapier and Living Rapier. Without those 3 cards I wouldn't have stood a chance. As it is, I managed to hold the board because of them and win.

In match 2, my home map of Blumeer, it was a very close match the whole way. We both played green heavy decks (NO blue for those who love to use a blue/kelpie strategy on that map :O ) and I was inches from losing control almost the whole round... I had a lvl 5 wolverine that Jasoya made a very dirty (and smart, insanely smart) play on when he land protected it, thus stopping my tokebi and since he was able to figure out my deck didn't revolve much around defense, leaving my LVL 5 land very vulnerable.

A few rounds later Jasoya WoR himself to the castle. I had the option of HW1'ing him with a sloth and it took almost the whole turn for me to decide: I could HW1 him and have him hit my LVL5 wolverine... BUT I knew he had 2 crusher storms in his deck and 27 cards left to draw.... I couldn't take those odds so I let him be and sure enough he drew crusher storm! (thus negating my protective items). That was close to the turning point -- I still had to worry about his chariot's as he had a Brontides 2 squares away with a Brontides in his hand for support! Fortunately as he landed on a hut to draw a spell he drew the chariot and I was able to crush it and safely stroll to the castle for the win.

GREAT GAMES jasoya, They really could have gone either way -- I didn't land on a single one of your leveled up lands in Blumeer and that would have been a huge turning point.

A warning to all that are planning on participating in season 10: watch out for Jasoya he will give you a run for your money and the some!

Congratulations Derceto!!! You may have thought you were the underdog, but we never did. And, I know exactly what you mean about Jasoya - slack off for one second and he destroys you (see SBVII playoffs). Good run, Jasoya!

Congrats, Derceto! You've probably already noticed that your signature now shows your spiffy new medal. :)

The Hall of Champions is also updated, and the new Saga Bowl Rankings are up as well.

Great season, everyone!

Indeed they were great games, I wished I could have made them both closer matches but that's how the game goes sometimes. Congratulations Derceto and "I will get you next time Derceto, next time!"
