(Adapted and translated from Yoshi's blog article on Culdcept.net)
Culdcept Revolt is so fun, and a lot of gameplay elements that have never existed before have been added... Vigorous, Synthesis, Global-effect spells, etc. In this guide, I'll examine the two "button-pushing" creatures, Angry Mob and Vigilante:
Angry Mob ST:20 HP:30 MHP:30 G:50+ In Battle: Quickly tap the A Button to increase ST. If ST is raised above 100 in this way, it becomes 10.
Vigilante ST:20 HP:30 MHP:30 G:50+ In Battle: Quickly tap the A Button to increase HP. If HP is raised above 100 in this way, it becomes 10.
"Quickly tap the A Button to increase __" - it's kind of silly, isn't it? This is Culdcept, an intellectual game... something like this, why? Let's deepen your understanding about both of these unique creatures.
In battle, each of these creatures gives the Cepter about a 2-second opportunity to raise its ST or HP at the moment item selection is over. If you tap A only once, ST or HP is raised by a random value of 1 to 5. To test, I tapped A only once in 29 different battles and found there was basically no consistency (see Table 4). In one battle, tapping A once didn't raise the stat at all, possibly due to time lag, though my co-researcher Mr. Kokyu confirmed that the button was pressed within the time. Given this, I think we can develop a deadly technique that forces the opponent into action due to the unsure nature of the situation.
My limited number of tests leaves the question open - is it really 1 to 5 for each tap? Eh, make sure you try enough times? Do it yourself!
The increase in ST & HP due to the number of consecutive taps
So, let's say that stat increases of 1 to 5 every time you tap A will similarly appear with probable probability. We decided to treat the total value when we shook five side dice N times as the rising width of ST & HP. We summarized the results of 50 trials of them. I posted it as Table 5 at the end of the sentence, so if you are interested please come later.
Where it is difficult to handle this number. Except for special cases such as swipe, basically ST is the same value (even with ST 50 even with HP 50 even if the tens digit is the same), ST can withstand ST 50 in HP 50 and HP 51 It changes whether or not. I thought that it is not practical to just calculate the average value. So, I made a table that summarizes the range of increase in practical range for each of ST and HP.

Explaining with Table 2 as an example, it can be read that "When Vigilante's HP increase with 15 taps was obtained 50 times, the number of times its HP was increased by 41-50 was 29 times."
I think that it will be different when I try the number of trials again, but for the time being, this section will be based on this table's results.
Case Studies: Number of consecutive taps required
Rock Titan Invasion / Defense
For our first case study, we're attacking Rock Titan. An ST of 70 or more but 99 or less is required. According to the results in Table 1, it is possible to obtain the necessary ST at the probability of 96% of the time with 20 or 21 taps. Since we can hit a sufficiently high probability, 20 taps can be said to be the basic number of Angry Mob.
Next, when a Rock Titan is invading Vigilante, an HP of 70 or more but 99 or less is necessary. Since the invader's ability is not influenced by the land bonus, it's only necessary to achieve 60 HP by tapping A. It's ideal that we're at 100% probability with 17 taps. How about if you want to achieve a number that lets you leave a little extra HP because the other party uses Sigil of Shrink? Considering that the 10 HP return will occur at a probability (20%) which can't be ignored from 20 taps, it seems that 19 taps are the best.
Under ordinary circumstances, let's use the saying "20 taps on offense, 19 taps on defense" as the general rule.
High-Priced Invasion
Even though Angry Mob can use Weapons, 99 ST is the highest value. Think of Tiamat as an example regarding the high price of 100 HP or higher - and think about what happens when you roll onto a level 5 Minotaur with a Gremlin's Eye.
In this case, numbers up to 89 are almost meaningless, as you need to risk achieving a 70 to 79 increase with pinpoint accuracy. There are many possibilities of returning to 0 ST if you tap 24 times, but you can take a high-value land with a 52% chance. Since the probability worsens extremely when you tap 25 times, it is necessary to aim for a perfect 24 taps. Remember: "24 for preparedness, 25 for barbarism".
If you have Hell Pyron in play, you're aiming for 60 to 69 instead of 70 to 79. In this case, limit your taps to 22 for optimal anger. The head is cool, the mind is Angry.
Defense Against Fire Beak + Hell Pyron's Boost
But, how about a scenario where the highest defensive power is required?
When Hell Pyron is boosting Fire Beak, it has a 90 ST attack. In order to protect Vigilante from this threat, 91 to 99 HP is required. This number can be achieved with a probability of 52% by tapping 22 times. I am surprised that guaranteed high numbers are unexpectedly high with this probability. Perhaps Vigilante + Gremlin's Eye gives an unexpected bonus. Could you use a Warlock's Disk? I don't know, I only had a Sneak Hand.
Burning Heart Invasion
One of the advantages of these two creatures is that you can control their ST and HP numbers after the items are decided.
For example, suppose a Deep-Sea Dragon attacks you. If you did not use items, definitely aim for 50 HP (19 taps), or 24 taps when I brought Sword of Pluck. When I got 150 ST with Chain Saw, I gave up and used items differently, such as preserving the overall attack power, etc. There are also choices afterwards.
Let's assume that this is also valid at the time of the invasion. For example, there was a 10 HP Vigilante who was shot by Magic Bolt. Suppose that this 10 HP Vigilante is invading in a situation with Necro Plasma and Burning Heart in hand. The opposing Gelatinous Wall had a Sphere Shield and a Gelatinous Armor in hand, but seems likely to be wearing the Gelatinous Armor in fear of your Necro Plasma. The moment the items are revealed, this is the situation:
You can't defeat the Wall as it is. But, here is the strength of the Vigilante. If you choose to return to 10 HP to 10 by over-tapping, you can activate the Burning Heart by receiving 10 damage from Gelatinous Wall. You can almost certainly return to 10 HP with more than 29 taps, so train well so that you can tap more than 29 strokes in order to make yourself as strong or as weak as needed.
After attacking, you can say that attacking creatures with options that you can control even after being attacked has very strategic and technical advantages!
In addition, though I thought that "a number deck is more interesting" I set it up as "a Vigilante shot with a Magic Bolt", but basically if I give a Burning Heart to a Vigilante with full HP, it will go to HP 50 alone. Burning Heart suicide is established if it is over +50, so it will be approx. 96% at 20 taps. This guy is frustrating.

If you remember this table, you're also a Vigilante and Angry Mob Master! I'm glad if your Revolt life will be enriched with this. Well, are you going to put Angry Mob and Vigilante in a book? If I can't push it while counting the number of consecutive taps, I include Hell Pyron and Rahab.
