ジャック ("Jack"), the 2nd-place player in the All Japan Cepter's Cup 2012 final, opted for a lap-based strategy. Using Permission, Word of Recall and a big pile of movement cards, his goal was to lap as quickly and often as possible. Unfortunately, this approach didn't pay off for Jack, and he trailed far behind most of the match. With 3 players using Air-heavy decks (and one using Spirit Walk + Powder Eater to grab Air lands almost at will), he struggled to acquire land all match long. Fortune finally smiled on Jack three turns from the end, though, as he managed to jump from roughly 2000G up to over 4300G and snatched the runner-up spot away from りょうちゃん ("Ryo-chan") on the very last turn by less than 100G.
