Like the Water+Earth Starter deck, the Fire+Air Starter deck in Culdcept 3DS presents a new opportunity for veteran players. The PS2/DC game only had 2 Starter decks, both with complementary elements. 3DS introduces an aggressive Starter deck (this one) and a defensive-oriented one (Water+Earth). Whether you're invasion-happy, conservative, or somewhere in-between, 3DS has you covered right away.

Creatures: One less creature than PS2/DC (1 Giant Rat got the boot), but Neutral gets a pretty big upgrade - Goblin is out, Cyclops is in. Fire is unchanged other than some of the cards themselves getting minor revisions. As far as Air creatures go, Spectre is in; Sprite is out. Spectre's random ST & HP ability makes it potentially very strong on offense and defense - but it could also end up being 10/10 and driving a new player nuts in the process. Regardless, Spectre is a whole lot more fun than Sprite. :-)

Items: Same number of items as PS2/DC, but they've increased the variety and strength on offense and defense with the addition of Battle Axe and Scale Armor.

Spells: A couple of pretty big changes here. First, they've added another Manna, making the already-fast Starter decks even faster. Second, they've dropped Cure in favor of Wind of Hope, greatly improving the deck's drawing power.

Overall: The Fire+Air Starter deck is pretty strong on offense and defense despite featuring 2 offensive-oriented elements. It's considerably better than the Fire+Air Starter deck in Culdcept DS, but that's really all it can be compared to, since the other games in the series don't have the Fire+Air Starter option.
